Wildflower verge trial

With the support of the Parish Council, Wild Groombridge will trial a wildflower verge by the car park outside the Parish Council office in Groombridge.

Here are Parish Administrator Stephanie Chapman and Wild Groombridge volunteer Jamuna Jolana Amara getting excited about what might grow over the years when we cut the grass much less.

This is a trial, so we’ll monitor what grows here over time. The verge will still be cut, but to a management plan that supports the plants that grow there (and maintains visibility for drivers if this is an issue).

We’ll do the first survey on Sunday (10 July 2022) at 10am so come and say hello if you’d like to help or have a plant photo you’d like to identify! We’ll be posting our surveys on the Wild Groombridge website – from small seeds great things grow, we hope!
