This year’s event takes place on 27th — 29th January 2023. Spend just one hour watching and recording the birds that land in your garden (or any local green space) , then send your results to the RSPB. Full details and help with identification can be found on the RSPB website. You never know what might turn up – over the years there have been some very unusual sightings; black redstart, white-tailed lapwing, snowy owl, belted kingfisher, myrtle warbler, siberian lesser whitethroat, but to name a few! Last year jays and even waxwings were spotted surprisingly frequently.
In recent years up to 700, 000 people have been taking part making it one of the largest wildlife citizen science projects in the world. Why not join them in 2023!
